Humidity drop

Post by Southwest420 »

Evening all✌

I'm just wondering would you say that a drop in humidity a few days after watering could indicate they need watering again? As they have ran out of water to transpireπŸ€”πŸ€”...?

Good question Southwest420,

one im not sure of the answer....lol. I defo notice a increase in humidity when i water but am dumping 40 liters through 8 pots. My ecotechnics controller sorts my humidity though so its always around a certain number. If this is something you have literally only noticed the last few days humidity is dropping with the real cold weather so this could be it. As you are in soil id just base your feeding on the weight of the pots till you are at the point its regular feeding.

yeah makes a big difference imo - the more moisture in the area, the more it will be in the air :)
The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.

There are too many variables to consider. Humidity is relative to temperature for starters as well as the weather and all sorts including your plants. While it may be your plants that are tipping the balance, I wouldn't use humidity as an indicator to when to water. Stick your finger in the pot if it's wet the. You're good. If it feels dry, give it a nudge to see how light it is. You can also buy moisture sensors for cheap to give you more insight.

Was just wondering if it could be a kind of indicator πŸ˜‚ nevermind I'll have to work it out like the rest of us lol

Might have to grab one of them top man GGβœŒπŸ™Œ

No no no lol. You in soil, allow pot to dry. At your stage I'd imagine thsts every 3 days'ish. The amount is fine to.

I'm in coco, needs feeding dialy with a minimum 20% runoff. I like to get a fair bit more, sort of a continuous flush. Your fine with whst you are doing.

I've been feeding every 2days as noticed they get a bit droopy by then that was at 1L thou so maybe a bit longer this timeπŸ™

I get quite a bit of run off approx 400/500ml out of the 3 combined, I collect it and put back through the pots with no run off the second time around is this ok?

I'd prefer not to use the runoff again on the plants myself.
As explained humidity is relative to temperature and many other factors, including how moistured your medium is. That's why most people feed their plants an hour after the lights come on to allow some time for the pots to dry out(heat from lights always help to reduce humidity and evaporate moisture from medium)
