from a quick read, it integrates with alexa and google home.

if you use the kasa cloud integration, I would suspect thats where any security issues would be, might be better with google home.

i'll keep digging when i get chance

I wouldnt use any camera in the groom connected to the net mate - loads have linux vulnerabilities - I used to scan certain ports for connecting to them. Amazing how many offices etc you could see!
The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.

I did this and used a cheap tp link camera with no ir, also used the smart plug to do watering, ideally you need a way to tell they need water as although I didn’t kill my plants they were dryer than I water them to be, Iv done it for a week and a little over a few times, I drain to waste so just needed a big enough res and big enough drain bucket and it’s set

Then I realised I need a HUB too hahah
The one that I have needs a wireless router. So if you have wireless then you should be good.

The other day when I was high I solved one of the world's greatest problems.
Unfortunately five minutes later I forgot what I was doing.

I got a cheap dual lens camera which I connect to a remote socket so that it remains powered off unless I am actually using it. This limits both the IR contamination and the amount of up time the camera is available to be hacked.

I even tried hacking the camera myself and the root password 'rotates' every milli second so even when I know (brute forced) all the passwords it is impossible to logon manually as root.
