EC higher with multiple plants?
Ok, I need some help with this one guys
I'm growing dwc, 8 clones in a 27 gallon tote
Running about 15 gallons
Water is RO, 0 ppm
Nutes are calmag plus, silicate, and just grow feed so far
Day 15 flower
Everything looks great, roots are good. White and no sign of rot.
But ever since switching to flower I've had a steady drop in ph, about .5 every night.
Usually during veg if the water went down and ec was stable and ph dropped, I would just up the nutes a bit because it's leaching solution. Then it's stable for the rest of the week
But I'm up to 1.7 EC and there's no way I'll go further this shit is starting to scare me, how aren't my plants getting nute burn??
So....... Does more plants in one res= more nutrients needed?
Sry for writing a short story just want to help my case as much as possible
Thanks guys

Re: EC higher with multiple plants?
I've decided to go ahead and lower the EC to 1.3, see if the ph stabilizes

I can't help, mate. I'm a soil person. No need for EC in soil. :)

flush, reset to 1.0 imho and wait to see what it does.

Re: EC higher with multiple plants?
I am not sure how it works in hydro sharing same res with many plants but It could be absolutely possible for them to need higher EC.
Look at Nanook of the north. His EC was constantly rising. As he had so many plants in the reservoir. I know some people in USA rise their EC up to 2.5-2.6 and have no problem. And your plants look perfectly happy to be honest. How many days they been on the high ec? I would say if they look healthy, grow and bloom...keep it up.

Re: EC higher with multiple plants?
Hey bulls, thanks for chiming in man they were at 1.7 for a week. I figured maybe using 0 ppm water is the reason for such high nutes... I'm lost. LmaooBulls wrote:I am not sure how it works in hydro sharing same res with many plants but It could be absolutely possible for them to need higher EC.

I'm terrified of over-ferting after what happened my last grow, so I've lowered to 1.3 for now...
Checked this morning and ph dropped from 5.7-5.6, so almost stable I guess. I think nanook hit it on the head, I'll change res tonight and reset at 1.0

Re: EC higher with multiple plants?
After lowering to 1.3, my EC is stable and ph dropped from 5.7-5.6 overnight. I'll do a res change and lower to 1.0 when I get home, thanks broNanook of the north wrote:flush, reset to 1.0 imho and wait to see what it does.
