CDM lights and variation in cost

Post by The Irishman »

Hey troops so I currently have a Maxibright Daylight Horizon 315w CDM Lighting kit running along side a 600watt viperspector LED. I am looking to change all my lights to CDMs as the quality of plant it produces is phenomenal compared to other lights. I know this from my own experience as I have 1 girl under HPS, 2 girls under LED and 2 girls under CDM. All grown under same environment and nutrients and the 2 under the CDM are so much better.

So looking through the internet I have found this CDM kit. However the price is nearly a third of what I paid for mine. I was wondering if anyone on here has any experience with this brand? And if I purchase it will I be getting the same output and quality of light spectrum as I’m getting from the expensive maxibright one?

Any help or advice is appreciated troops

No. I bought omegas very cheap with lamps... Like £160 per kit with reflector... But they come seller dependant with years of warranty. Worth looking at maybe? :)
The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.

Will def check them out mate. Was nearly gonna private mail u to ask about them because I remember seeing u recently changed to CDMs. Thought £100 for the kit would be too goo to be true

So far dude CDM is way in the lead very closely followed by HPS. The LED is leaps behind them both :(

Omega and Maxibright.

Do not buy any ballast that has the dimmer function. Shyte.

Lamps are what are dear. If you can buy the best get them - Phillips Agro Green Power. This is the only one that I will buy. Costs twice as much as the cheap knock offs but you do get what you pay for. £95 each.
The other Phillips 315W lamps of which there are two will do the job but are NOT the one designed for growing. They are cheaper but some dealers sell them for the same price and con folks who do not know the difference.

Cheapest Ballast I have found is £52 from Spain, and £60 Elite Flowering is the brand. Search terms CDM ballast on ebay.

I have to agree - having grown with CDM the last three/four years and owning Quantum panels I would select CDM every time ahead of the rest.
Thank you for all that info Viz really appreciate some in sight. I wasn’t too sure of the £99 kit as the one I have the bulb alone is £99 lol think I’m gonna bite the bullet and get another couple of the one I already have. It’s £270 for the full kit but reakon it will be well worth it in the end

I'm using omega agro. Can't comment yet tho tbh as I've not chopped. Very similar to the one Viz mentions but half the price... Might only be half as good tho, we will see 😂
