im not sure they are aphids mate but i dare not utter the name of what im thinking they maybe

i have carrots ive not really been giving these plants any attention they have only had there initial feed

They are deffo aphids mate.... we use that bug clear when they are bad..
A good natural remedy is cayenne pepper, a clove of garlic and a few leaves from a french marigold plant wizzed up (proper wiz it) with water and then strained and put in a spray bottle with a few drops of dish soap. Works a treat as a preventative and for small problems.

Gonna have to make some of that up Glynne. I'm pretty sure they are aphids too.. Although I've had weird leaves from the off. Think it's an issue with over watering and then under watering. I'm still getting my head round the whole indoor growing and how different varieties/strains require different care. I'm going to try one strain next run as I think it will be easier to treat/fix the issues as they occur. The bug clear seems to be doing the trick, one more dose later in the week and I think we will be clear of the little buggers.

Those carrots look cracking, it's nice to be able to see them without having to dig them up. If they are not ready you can just dunk them back. Genius.. Never thought of growing carrots that way? I wonder if potatoes would work too?

My sunflowers have started to flower, I've not posted yet as I'm a little embarrassed as to how shit they look.. I'm tempted to plant some more and see if I can get some nice ones before the end of summer.
