slow growth check up
I am a newbie with 2 outdoor harvests under my belt. Decided to do indoor hydroponic during the winter.
I am on day 12 from germination day 9 from sprout. I am worried she is growing too slowly and that I'm messing it up. She looks relatively healthy although not as deep green as I am used to. First true leaves are a little wavy.
Please let me know if I'm on the right track. Stems are purple and always have been so I think it's genetics as the strain I'm growing can be colourful.
Started with a humidity dome as it is dry here. Sorted out my humidifier, now out of dome.
Here are my specs;
Hydroponic ebb and flow. Flooding 3 x a day.
Substrate: germinated in Vermiculite and perlite mix, in netting pot, with clay balls surrounding.
Lights: 400w HPS duel spectrum (needed heat) 18/6 at 40cm (16in) above plant
Nutes: general hydroponics flora series diluted for seedlings
Ppm 150
Ph 5.5 to 6
Ec 0.35
Temp: 23 Celcius (73f) lights on 15 Celcius (59f) lights off
RH: 55%
I have an oscillating fan that blows gently
I don't know if I'm just being paranoid. Please help

Re: ?slow growth check up
Well, let's start with a very warm welcome straight off the bat
Nows it kinda looks like everything is ticking along very nicely but are you nutrient measure the ppm/ec above background or are you using RO water?
I'd say she looks more than ready for upping that feed level and you'll have a happy lil lady, mate

Re: ?slow growth check up
I'd say yes lights off temperature is too low - if you can't maintain it with heater please consider switching your lights to 24/7. Also increase the distance between plants and light a little bit. They are a bit too young. And your EC is a bit too low I think. I'd wait for you answer it you're using RO water or just you tap water is really soft.

Re: ?slow growth check up
Thank you so much everyone. I am using tap water, my water is soft. I've got the nutes for soft water. I will raise my light a bit. It's so darn cold at night. But will see if I can make a plan with a heater. Thank you. Suggest increasing nutes now?

Re: ?slow growth check up
If you're planning to use heater - you will be better of running the lights 24/7
If you're lights are out at night maybe switch the light cycle so your lights off to be in a day time(it's warmer)
I'd give them a couple of feeds at ec 0.5 and take photos with the lights off(use camera flash)

Re: ?slow growth check up
Ec of tap water is 0.065. Not super clued up on how to get the ec up without just adding nutes.
Good idea to swap the light cycle or 24hrs. I will try. And take better pics:)
