Re: the people's choice
Sunmaster MH for veg, Sunmaster Dual spec for flower. Tbh I think you will get away with a 400w for veg though. As for filter, viper filters are new but solid. Ive had a rhino pro fail very early, 2 others also have, seems a trend of late. You don't need one every grow but I change mine every 2. Best to be safe than sorry given this is the bit of kit that keeps you out of trouble.

Re: the people's choice
thanks guys. I thought 400 might be ok. I'll go with that be cheaper to run aswell.
so do you run your fans 24/7 aswell keeno?
i remember the thread about the filters actually so will get one so its at the ready.
as for bulbs, why the dual spec for flowering and not just a flowering bulb?
thanks again

Re: the people's choice
most will go with duel spec for 2 reasons the duel spec is cheaper and you can use it for both veg and flowerRedz Medz wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 10:00 pmthanks guys. I thought 400 might be ok. I'll go with that be cheaper to run aswell.

i think the flowering lamps are only used in the final stages of flowering i.e last 3-4 weeks of flower
i run my c/f 24/7 mate helps keep negative pressure and takes any smell out of the air as some strains honk in veg aswel as flower lol

Re: the people's choice
Always run fans 24/7 mate. It's not just the smell they are there for, you want constant fresh air moving through. An eco tech controller or similar will control the speed of the fans to keeps temps where they should be but are not essential.Redz Medz wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 10:00 pmthanks guys. Personal preference with dual spec over full hps, i think my plants prefer a fuller spectrum in flower.
A side note, you can dim a 600w to 400 or 250 but don't do this. The elements in the bulbs need to be at a set temp to produce the desired spectrum they are supposed to. Dimming a larger wattage bulb to a lower setting means the bulb won't be at correct temp.

Re: the people's choice
i have to run mine 24/7 to help cope with the humidity in that room its just I do see a lot of people keep only an oscillating fan on at lights off.
im going to get one of those controllers as soon as i can, they seem a massive help.
haha yeah had some bad advice from the local ages ago saying dimming them was fine, i soon learned it wasn't after I bought it
