Re: 10
I had the same problem with 2 x 12 inch rhino pros. I sent them back, they leaked smell within a week of being installed.
ive used rhino for years but will never buy another one after this.
They told me they knew there were issues with some batches of larger filters. I asked, if they knew about it, why didn't they recall them......the line went silent...… I was more than a bit annoyed, but luckily had just flipped them, so the smell wasn't that bad, but still bad enough to smell outside the house...naughty rascals, I thought, or something similar- the lot of em.
Go with carbo-air or mountain air. is my advice.

Re: 10
Never had a problem in years and years of using Rhino pro filters, never get any smell, my current filter has done probably 6 or 7 grows and still going strong, touch wood he says :D
All filters will lose their ability to perform at optimum if your RH is high for any length of time, i think it`s summink like RH 70% + if my memory serves me right, but your CF isnt`t gonna perform as it should if that`s case, that applies to any CF :)

The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.
