I’ve refrained from putting this thread up for a good while but it’s Tuesday I’ve sinned and took a drink … bad Polly on a school night lol
So what’s your thoughts on this ,yet again jumped on by the media and the government haven’t got a clue , not sure if anyone owns any bully type dogs but what’s your thinking if you own one , torn , upset , gonna listen or not listen , the list is pathetic unhinged and not clear , they already have ppl putting down their dogs for a £200 payment ffs and have got ppl in a state of panic over it and this exemption certificate crap of £92.50 where’s this money going to , not the exact figures cos I can’t find it now but roughly 68 ppl in the last 40 yrs have been killed by dogs , only 7 was xl bully type dogs , the rspca this week have called on government to be more clear on what they mean after taking 20,000 calls in a week off worried owners , they are ripping the normal family’s pets apart for the handful of brutal ppl that use them as weapons , it’s sad and upsetting, the stress ppl are going through with this is unreal , don’t get me wrong I feel so sorry for the victims of dog attacks by this breed but should everyone and every dog be punished because of a minority of pathetic owners that don’t train them right , just thinking that there’s a Jack russel in my street that’s bit 5 ppl and it’s still running riot there’s also a boxer in my street that’s bit 2 ppl , what’s happened to these dogs … absolutely nothing they are still there barking and snarling at anything that walks past , it’s sad state of affairs and yet again the government have no idea what they are on about

It's the owners that need sorting there's so many dog owners who haven't a clue on how to train or look after there dogs, obviously any dog that is attacking people unfortunately would have to go. Hope your feeling better after your rant lol, and kudos for drinking on a school night lol

Poor training which is the owners fault & not the dogs. There's a couple who own 3 dogs near us, not Bullys , but they get huge pleasure from allowing the dogs to snap, growl & behave aggressively towards any dog they pass or come into contact with. Complete twats.

From what I've read, the half a dozen "bully" attacks have been dogs that were in the house or had escaped from the house. Not a random dog on a walk. (unless I've missed that story)

This ban will just drive people to keep their dogs inside so they don't get the exercise and socialisation they need to be balanced dogs. They'll hide them away from the world, there will always be someone breeding them and you'll always be able to get one down the pub. Attacks will go up.

The big man on the street who wants a status dog will just get something else, it'll come round to doberman dogs again like the 80s, then rotties etc.

The most seized dogs for aggression are staffies and alsations in this country, they ain't been banned.

Humans need to learn how to have a balanced social dog, too many time I see folks pick theirs up or try and shoo mine away when he goes for a bum sniff... that causes more problems, let dogs be dogs and stop treating them like children. If they're aggressive, have their nuts off FFS, be a responsible owner.

Bring back the dog license and dna swab every fucken dog so at least the councils can prosecute for dog shite all over the place and if someone does get bit and the owner does a runner, it can be traced.

The good news is the majority of vets will not euthanize a healthy bully, (it's in the 90 odd percent range, I'll look it up later or you could DIY), they also think the ban is bonkers.

The Tories are doing what they are also doing with the immigration... stirring up the knee jerk hatred to get the votes from the pearl clutching narrow minded fucks, just so they can cling to power.

Just look at the great Brexit swindle.

The reason we started adopting Rottweilers 25 years ago. They were the devil dog of the time.
Stories in the press about Rottweilers taking babies from prams and all sorts of other bollocks.
The problem was not the breed but the fact it was the dickheads dog of choice.
It's always the owner not the dog.
Unfortunately now shelters are going to be full again.
If you are thinking getting a dog please don't fund puppy farmers.
