A mentor can help you chose the right equipment to get you started, good knowledge on strains and pretty good at growing hopefully lol. A mentor is the way to go on a first grow.

I think it does, for instance if you have to break a bud open to get a a odour from it i often find it bad quality and the high is short lived. Oh and the flavor often is not there
