Worth a test I supposed? Boveda cured vs cured traditional method
Every jar is about 65% apart from one that is 80%. I'm a bit loathed to not burp that one. I can;t understand why it's so high as it's #2 plant same as #1 plant but #1 is at 65%...???

I'm leaving the lid open on the jar tonight and will retest tomorrow. Might fart in the jar to help seal in some terps.

Anyone using the boveda packs?

Do you still burp your jars during curing or just leave the packs to do their thing?

Sorry I've just given you my burping life story when you asked a simple.question.

I've found that curing for a few weeks or so, then pop the flower in a foil mylar bag with a humidity pack and heat seal. Works great! I've kept flower fresh for 18+ months.

I don't think the humidity packs do much to help cure anything. More to keep the correct amount of moisture in the flower to stop any mold growing and to preserve secondary metabolites.

The 62% ones keep things a little on the moist side, but seem to preserve the most flavour. You have to leave the bud out for a bit before you grind it if not it sticks to the grinder and doesn't burn very well. I use the Integra Boost packs and the 55% packs are great for sticking in your stash jar as they don't make the bud too moist.

I have thar from time to time without using any boveda packs etc. Sometimes certain parts of the plants are more wetter me thinks? :idn:

If that happens I just get a big mixing bowl, empty both jars and mix them and put them back in..then at least one that is too dry can get some moisture back..but I am talking about dry jars around 55-58% when I want them at 62/65%

Re: Boveda RH packs and Burping.

About 11 days in and I've been popping jars and testing the last few days.

My 00seeds Blueberry tastes like cheese, the Blue Moby tastes like it shouldn't too. Gas. Both alright but not what they said on the tin.

On the upside, I got 2 phenos off the Nep Jam x Violeta crosses.
One is lemon, nice high, happy up, half closed eyes thanks to gravity, but I want to move as I'm full of energy, but there's a ghoolie holding me down and shouting in my brain about how fluffy cats are.
The other is just reminding me of Mango Haze flavour wise, this one's more euphoric and content in yourself while zipping around on a Tonka toy up the local nightclub in your mum's best frock.

Blues x PTG smells of cat pissed in trainers and teenage me's armpits after eating mircowaved frozen beefburgers before the basketball match.

And I've just realised that this isn't my diary is it... :rolf:

Ooh yeah, the boveda packs... Well. There is 1 of the Nep Jams that was still a little damp (Mango Haze one) so that's been burped and all the others haven't.
That one smells more "mature" than the others. Not so much terps when you open the jars as the others, but the terps are more prominent in that one when I bust a nug up.

So, I dunno if these packs absorb terps and then radiate them back. ??

I still think dry and vac seal in the fridge is best for me, but you do loose the bag appeal (I lost my "bag" appeal many years ago).

MON THE BRICKWEED!!!

I chop trim and hang for seven days. Then I buck the nugs off each branch into a paper bag for seven days. The paper bags are closed during that time. Then I’ll transfer everything into a turkey bag with a 70 g 58% Boveda humidity pack for 2 weeks. Never burped.

Transfer to jars. Don’t worry about burping.

Just an FYI...

https://www.acslab.com/research-develop ... er-storage

Apparently the boveda packs don't steal your terps.

That 1 jar without the boveda had balanced out now and is starting to stink when I sniff the jar, just not as punchy as the boveda jars.
