Sounds like you've virtually done it with clay-balls then. I just thought they would struggle to wick up feeds to all roots in pots, but jobs a good en by sounds of it mate. 8-)

once the roots hit the bottom i never noticed any dry clay at the top tbh, it was always damp which is why i thought id give it a go lol. see what happens, always got the good old coco to fall back on if it goes tits up man lol.

I've done a mix around 50/50 mix of both in that system Hmr and it worked a treat with great results, prolly some of best I've had in that system if memory serves me right. Always had a few layers just clay-balls at pot bottom though. 8-)

I know that cocking up feeling man, most recent one being that i fucked up not putting a grow in when i went away, my mate woulda watered them too. Now starting over takes bloody ages and does my napper in i swear. What a cock up, but tis what it, i have 4 little dinky ens that popped up last week sometime that im gonna grow out, they're under about 50watts led. Be my Crimbo bud so all's well that ends well i suppose. 8-)
