I've had gnats on this run, put a load of sticky traps around the pots, thought they had been decimated but I let the plants dry out a bit this week and while watering last night I noticed loads of them emerging from some of the pots :rage: as they are in flower I can't really do much but I'll just have to make sure not to let them dry out like that again :idn:
you could give them a neem tea mate, it WILL GET rid of them :oik!:

I wonder if I could stick one of them wicks in my bum hole and drop the other end in a bottle of rum down my sock?

I could get pissed at work then and no-one would know.

Genius.

It would probably work but I don't really like neem personally, if I did use it would be in veg only. They don't seem to be affecting the plants more annoying than anything else  cheers

I used a thick layer of perlite or hydroton and it helped me curb them. My sticky traps showed a drastic decrease after that application. I prefer non-chemical cures when possible.

I've found what I was looking for GF... @Greenfingers I couldn't remember what it was called but I found it in the shed yesterday.

https://www.garden-innovations.co.uk/smart-valve.html

I used one of these clever little things when away a lot.

Dumped the pots in the conservatory in a huge tray on top of some capillary matting and that thing in the corner attached to my old autopot res.

PLants were alive and upright whjen I got back after a week.
