Fungus Gnats gone

Ive came up with a solution for a couple of problems in my grow space, a couple of problems from time to time being fungus gnats and not being home to water so.....
with a wick and some smelly neem tea we can keep the plants a tad happier

5ltr bucket of rainwater


A cup a neem pellets left to soak until it stinks (about 12 hrs)


Later on that day


I've found that you don't need lots and lots of coils to keep it moist enough.





I wasnt able to water my [plants for a few days so i added half a bucket of water which lasted about a week with the room at 30c

it's nice to play about and see what works.
Also the neem will help fertilize your plants with an average NPK of 4-1-2 and for anyone that doesn't know what neem is.

(Neem comes from the Neem tree which is a tropical evergreen tree. This tree is native to India as well as other southeastern countries on the globe. Now the Neem tree also has many other uses besides just for enhancing soil. The seeds bark and leaves all contain compounds of the Neem tree that are proven antiseptics, antivirals, antipyretics, anti-inflammatories, and antifungals in their uses. The Neem tree is thus called “the village pharmacy” in India because of all the ways it’s used.)



Sorry i forgot to mention, I gave them a light watering with the neem tea before i started with the wick system so the top layer is moist. (i know it's a bit backward as they love moist soil)

You may know this but thought ill mention it in case not. The plant will take on systemic properties of neem within your plant used this way, taken in through roots. So it will give added protection against most bad ju-ju typo shit, like bugs and moulds that may happen from time to time.

From what I've read just doing a simple root drench done just a few times the plant will take on the neem oil systemic properties for added protection against shit for a while. Don't think it would matter what medium plant is in tbh.

There's so much crawling..buzzing..and flying in outdoor garden..I'm hands off..apart from a plant therapy styley spray I do in the earlies..usually lol.love the wicking

Neem stinks like arse, I've slung one of these in the watering bucket when the bugs become a problem and it sorts the larvae out.




Yellow sticky traps in the space to judge if it's working or not.

I gave up using neem as it was a more miss than hit as to it working, but the dunks seem to be business!

We've been using these for a few years too. Works a treat.

I've had gnats on this run, put a load of sticky traps around the pots, thought they had been decimated but I let the plants dry out a bit this week and while watering last night I noticed loads of them emerging from some of the pots as they are in flower I can't really do much but I'll just have to make sure not to let them dry out like that again
