We can get swept away by our thoughts,,or learn to step back and see them with clarity.

Re: Extracts and by products
I'm interested in that acetone wash method. My trim usually goes in cocoa butter (love my edibles chocolate, easy way to high all day) but I think ill give that a go when I get me some trim.

I try keep stuff simple mateohlordyeah_420 wrote:I'm interested in that acetone wash method. My trim usually goes in cocoa butter (love my edibles chocolate, easy way to high all day) but I think ill give that a go when I get me some trim.
Super dry plant material hand crushed so it's no bigger than small peas size but not powder either
Acetone and plant material in the freezer for 2 hours or more
Both into a glass jar and mix for 2-5 mins
Seive plant material over a coffee filter. Acetone is really thin compared to iso or ethyl so it filters nice and quick.
Tinture Into a glass dish and dish into a larger baking dish. I then fill the other dish with kettle boiled water.
Re boil the kettle and refresh the water every 20 mins or so
After about 60-90 mins scrap up the gloop and gather on a non stick surface (I used bakers paper)
At this point I put it in the fridge cos the scrap is a bit messy and cooling it down helps stick it together into one lump on the paper
Final step; I boil a small saucepan of water with a side plate on top. I place the paper on the plate, unfolded and open then put the saucepan lid over the top (please note this last step CAN BE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS. The key to being safe at this stage is to have hot water bathed to the point bubbles stop forming when adding fresh boiled water. I also repeated lift the lid over a 1-2 hour purge
I know that's a long method but it's super simple once you give it a go

Re: Extracts and by products
Brilliant! Sounds like a good way to spend a day off. I'll try not and get too high before and blow the house, the cats and myself to bits.
Stay irie.

Be sure to either boil off outside or by an open window with a fan directing the vaper outohlordyeah_420 wrote:Brilliant! Sounds like a good way to spend a day off. I'll try not and get too high before and blow the house, the cats and myself to bits.

Actone boiling boil is around 86c so the whole process is a lot faster than iso or ethyl imo

Re: Extracts and by products
Just a lil test happening
Stalk soaked in ISO for 48 hours at -18c then filtered and returned to deep freeze
This batch has now been returned to the freezer to dewax/winterize before a second filter and boiling off
