Myco Tea with Mr. Hash
Hello all. This is a simple myco tea recipe shared from a trusted friend in the industry for 30 years.
This particular tea is aimed at soil (soil-less) media growers.
This solution yeilds about 4 gallons, and the dose is one solo cup full for established veg plants, 2 solo cups if in a larger pot.
Don't use after the first week of flower, but feel free to use every month in veg (every two weeks if you're feeling froggy)
The benefits are :
- Innoculation of your media, meaning less instance of
bacterial or fungal pathogens such as PM ,Botryis,
Root rot, ect.
- Increased nutrient bioavailability to your plants.
- Increased growth rate/vigor.
What ya need:
5 Gallon bucket
High quality aquarium air pump (I use Hygger).
4 inch air stones
Air tubing
Panty hose
High quality Trichoderma mycorrhizae (2 tsp per batch)
Unsulphured molasses 3/4 cup
4 Gallons spring water/filtered water (no chlorine or chloramine, will kill the mycos).
High quality worm castings. (I use a local company called organic mechanics.)
The Method:
Heat up 2 cups of spring/filtered water in a large measuring cup just enough to make it warm...about 1 minute or so (This will help dissolve the molasses).
Add the 3/4 cup unsulphured molases to the water. Stir until dissolved, then carefully pour into gallon jug.
Add Trichoderma to the mixture. Then gently shake/stir until mixed well.
Add that mixture, and the other 3 gallons of water to your 5 gallon bucket.
Put your airstones in the bucket.
Now that your liquid is ready, put the panty hose inside out over your hand and get a big fistful of worm castings. Grip it tight and roll off the pantyhose to catch your ball of poo. Tie a knot in the pantyhose just above the poo, and then tie it off on the side of your bucket, or use a lid, to suspend the poo to where it rests just in the liquid. I use a bait bucket lid for fishing.
Turn on the air pump. Position the poo ball in between your airstones so the air bubbles through it.
Brew until the foam on the tea is white (means the mycos have eaten all the available food and are ready to get to work). Process takes 24 to 36 hours.
Cheers.
