2 weeks old seedlings issue

Post by Jorgi »

Seedlings approx 2 weeks old today, was potted into 3L pots 7 days ago and given a light spray with water then on the 15th was given approx 500ml water per.

From my limited knowledge and looking at water reports I have very hard water so I leave my tap water out for 24hours or more before giving it to the plants.

Soil: Biobizz lightmix
Temps: Lights on 25-28c, light off 19-22c
Humidity: 60-80
Veg Light: cheap 120W full spectrum(LM301H 3500K+Epistar 660nm) LED on 20% currently

This is the second time I have the same issue with seedlings and would appreicate advice to avoid this in the future, I also apologize for my terrible camera skills, Thanks Jorgi.

I'm unsure what that is, but i do know seedlings can be touchy things, but 9 times outa 10 shit grows out and they come good. You could prolly try getting rh up in your room to around 60`ish and temps around 25/6c to help with better uptake of ferts.

They look more like 3-4 week old.
Im also in a hard water area, you could go the reverse osmosis route but your initial setup cost will be quite steep and you get 50:50 pure water to waste water ratio so if your on a water meter it could be quite expensive. Also you need soft water nutes for ro.
I use the prefilters from an ro system, basically a carbon filter and two particle filters, while it wont remove all the contaminants it will remove any heavy metals and larger debris, also removes chlorine and some other chemicals, you only need to replace the filters once every 6 months or so and itll cost less than £20.
My plants are defo happier since I stopped using straight tap water.

Om with @2-Scoops. Seedlings are a fussy bunch at times. All the leaf matter you have there will be removed/I'm a few weeks, so don't worry about any damage.

Let then dry out a bit inbetween watering.
