Green Algae
Hi guys and girls, this is a bit of a unique subject for you all. Im doing a bit of a novelty grow with a cbd freebie in my tent with a load of other autos. You can see in my grow dairy I have 7 autos in a 4x2ft tent so it's pretty much like a SOG. Its in a clear jug which I knew wasn't the best idea but I didn't think it would get enough light down there amongst the other plants to do any damage. I was wrong there's green algae growing everywhere. The plant is healthy enough and doing well apart from what's going on under the soil.
I was wondering if I wrap it up with something dark will the algae die off and could the algae get into the plant somehow and make the plant dangerous to eat/vape?

Re: Green Algae
Dunno about it getting into the plant mate but I don't think so, it will however compete for nutruents and o2. I would probably be thinking about watering with some beneficials maybe and deffinately blacking the jug out. Can you not have it out of the jug scrape the shit off and pot it up with some myco?

Re: Green Algae
Thanks guys. I'm not going to put too much effort into it tbh, it was always just a bit of an experiment. Ill blacken it by wrapping a thick black plastic bag of something around it and add some photo plus to the next watering, see if that has any positive effects

Re: Green Algae
The green algae is harmless stuff, well it is if its same stuff that sits and grows on top of my grow medium or on fibre glass cutting blocks that i use from time to time, it just looks a bigger worry than it is.
