Afghan Kush
Hi This is my review of the Afghan Kush I got from the gr420 store. (Cheers ) And special thanks to MommaB for inspiration
Breeder: White Label
3 seeds, 3 plants
Lighting: all under ISH 265 evo eclipse LED with 3 other plants as well.
Medium: Gold Label HydroCoco 60/40 and clay pebbles
Nutrients: From BAC - coco grow, bloom, root stim, bloom stim, silica power and PK booster. From BioBizz - Top Max, CalMag and PH down. Also used great white mycorrhiza when potting up. In veg I used moonshine foliar spray a couple of times as well.
Pot size: 6 litre
Smell in veg: skunky stem rub
Structure in veg: 2 of them were small/medium fairly squat bushy plants, broad leaved indica phenotypes. The other was taller with thinner leaves and longer stems.
Speed of growth: Vigorous, especially since they were geminated 3 weeks after the rest they caught up very quickly, soon becoming some of the largest plants early in flower and after having been topped just the once produced many colas.
Time in veg: 7 weeks
Flowering time: 63 days
Smell in flower: sweet skunky and slightly hazlenut on the tall pheno
Structure in flower: few main colas with lots of branching producing many smaller tops. With better training and topping could produce a good canopy for a scrog.
Bud structure: Pheno 2 was the most dense with chunky foxtailing, 1 and 3 were slightly more fluffy. Main colas were very fat and required tying around the last couple of weeks to stop them flopping over. Good bud to leaf ratio, easy to trim.
Heavy/light feeder: the first 2 phenos were average feeders although all 3 plants were always very thirsty and sometimes needed extra water, the third pheno was a bit more hungry and faded slightly as a result of them all recieving the same strength feeds.
Harvest weight: Exact weight unknown but it was a high yield for sure. Buds maybe not the heaviest but I've got a good few jars full.
Smell of dry bud: pheno 1 and 3 are very sweet, old skool skunk with a hint of grapefruit in pheno 1 and a hazelnutty undertone in pheno 3. Pheno 2 didn't smell as much but has different terps, bit more piney with slight citrus and liquorice kinda smell.
Taste: Phenos 1 and 3 sweet skunky and pheno 2 piney. Good smokability, very smooth/kind.
Effect: All 3 have similar high, very mellow and relaxing. Full body stone with a creeping cerebral buzz, and strong sedative effect.
Overall rating: 8/10
Easy to grow, didn't really give any problems exept they got big really fast and crowded out the smaller adjacent plants which was more down to the placement of the pots. Also pheno 1 was very sticky and made some nice kief with large gland heads. Not the strongest weed but I would recommend if you are wanting a big yielder that is easy to grow and has good medical benefits and is good for sleeping. Cheers all peace
