Invisible Sun 530 LITE

Post by wutang »

Hey all

I wanted to just drop a review of the 530 LITE recently used on my last run of Super Lemon Haze and Grapefruit Tangie.

Grow Area:
I used in a tent of 1.2x1.5x.2m, grow area only 1.2x1.2m the other 30cm accommodated my fan heater and circulation fan. The purpose of extended bit is intended for a propagation chamber but I don't use that.

Light positioning:
The light never moved in the entire grow, the only thing I adjusted was the dimmer.

As per Invisible Sun's advice, upto 50% in Veg and 50% + during flower. I gradually increased the dimmer setting, as with LED, starting off lower is better as the intensity can stunt the plants or do some weird crap to them.

Plants:
I grew 4 plants in total, 2 of each strain. Now the grow did suffer with some issues but that was due to my excessive feeds and cold temps causing lockouts. However one plant managed to ignore all that and bloomed into a monster yielding twice as much as the other plants. And let me show you the nugs, frosty and dense:

The hardware:
The unit is fairly slim, apart from the two meanwell drivers on top, well wired, using the right IP protected glands to protect the cable terminations

During the autumn it kept my temps at a steady 22/23c. Now that we've hit winter it no longer maintains that, but it is LED after all. So during winter I'll switch to a 600w HPS to stop my heater coming on so often, and the byproduct will keep my groom warm.

Results:
I was incredibly surprised by the density of the nugs across all 4 plants, but more so the one that kept accepting high feeds and the cold temps.

Aroma: 100% the the grapefruit smell is getting stronger and strong and the lemon on the haze is definitely there.

Flavour: as I'm only about 3 weeks into cure it's difficult to tell, but hopefully will get better.

The only downsize is storage of this monster, but it's worth the trade off.

Only running at 400w based on my kasa plug, and decent spread in a 1.2x1.2 tent, it's definitely worth the money and overall what you'd save vs HPS. That also depends on the location of your groom I.e. if you have to keep the heaters running during winter.

Any questions, let me know.

Thank you @Keeno and @Invisible Sun
Many more grows to come with this!

It fits with enough room in my 1.2x1.2

Lovely write up Wu. These 530 units pack a serious punch. I'm often saying running them dimmed works lovely. I was restricted on height when I used one so run dimmed and the light performed amazingly well.
