What week do you count from?

Bit late now guys because I am near the finish line lol but what week do you guys and gals start counting the weeks of flower from?

The guy who got me my pre potted babies said 4 weeks veg and then trim the bottoms, leave it a couple of days and then flip to 12/12 cycle and that day is the start of week one

Now I’m hearing I should wait until white hairs are showing on most of them l, even after flipping and once I’m happy with them all showing these hairs- THAT’S when I begin the weeks of counting down?

Depends on the breeder but your average strain will normally sit between 55-70 days after switching the light cycle. That's just an estimate though and you should go by the plants. Checkout some guides on checking trichomes for ripeness.

Thanks man, guess I was just asking what’s a rough/general estimated time

Was told each run with what I got off him would on average be around 13 weeks total

All smoker dependant like you say mate, I have a jewellers glass and can monitor trichome colours etc

Just wanted to make sure I haven’t started counting too early from changing the light cycle

I personally start counting from day 1 of the 12/12 flip, but add a week on to any estimated flowing times. So if its an 8 week strain, I'll estimate its going to go for 9. No idea if this is correct, but it seems to work for me as a rule of thumb.

I count from the day I flip, if it’s an 8 week strain I’ll flower it for 8 weeks, when I let them go longer I get lots of foxtails so I aim to finish them before that.

I tend to count from the day after i flip so like the first full 24 hour period of changing the light cycle, dunno. As a rule of thumb I add a week too but tend to just watch it and take it on a convenient wkend

Day 1 of 12/12 for me. Unless im growing a proper haze, 99% of strains are ready for me by day 70 from flip.
