Re: DIY organic liquid fertilizer
Interesting stuff. I currently have a box of cooked rice hiding in the woods to make IMO1 & 2.
Tomorrow I am getting up at about 4am to harvest clover to make an fpj and I've got a lab going (although like the idea of using kefir).
First time with this stuff, I'm going to run a comparison with cuts of the tknl5haze to see if I can run full cycle, using ffjs nearer the end.

Re: DIY organic liquid fertilizer
I was using Canna Nuts and Led lights. Had awful deficiency problems despite following instructions meticulously. I have a lab background and pH measurement an EC measurement routine for me. Over a number of grows I experimented watering technique, managing the wet/dry cycles on the wetter or drier side - still poor results. I filled a large water butt with nettles, added rainwater and a tiny aquarium solar air pump (initially to try and quell the stink…..which didn't work, but it was agitating the contents well). Now my routine is simple. About every 2 days I decant from my butt about 40ml of nettle juice and make it up to 2 litres. I feed the plants and they are green and thriving (mid flower and no signs of any deficiency)
So I have replaced the hassle of making up nutrient feeds, pH ing them - with free nettle juice. The latter is diluted with minimal precision and not pH adjusted. So its easy and cheap.
The downside is it stinks, really stinks. You will severely regret any spills on your skin or clothes. However by carefully decanting contents into the soil….and no smell problems.
