Chest of draws veg box. Light?
G'day GR420
I have butchered my chest of draws (because who needs clothes storage) to make a throw together veg box with the aim of starting the Biscotti x Pink champagne tester from conscious genetics as soon as possible. (Thanks again guys) and it'll be nice to have something for future use
Unfortunately i seem to have misplaced Fat Max (tape measure) so dont have exact specs on the size its aprox 70cm wide and 4 draws tall I have photos....
I took the faces off the draws and fixed them to the battening around the front like so.Ill be routing the existing intake ducting from my tent through the chest of draws.
With the weather warming up, I'll be placing a bigger fan inside the tent freeing up the 6inch clip on for the box.
I'll eventually paint or line the inside with mylar but for now I'm wondering 2 things. First is light recommendations, looking for something cheapish. Seen a couple of sunblaster t5 which look pretty good. Would 2 2ft strips be enough in the box? Whoch brings me to, Second, what would be the best way to light seal around the face of it? Will put a lamp in there and see how bad it leaks but i know it'll leak all round.
All advice and criticism is appreciated
Thanks in advance.

Re: Chest of draws veg box. Light?
I'd stick a 4 bar 2 foot T5 in there... all day long for me!
Very good stealthy idea that. You may not even need a fan in there with that ducting pulling air through.
No need for mylar for starting plants, a lick of white paint would help but I'd be lazy and not do it. Half of my grow space is brown, I;m too lazy to paint the doors, and I still get more than enough dope for me.
You can seal the edges/light with gorilla tape. Just fold it over along the length leaving a sticky bit showing, then stick it to the cabinet so the folded over bit leans against the front when you put it on.

a small ISH clone light would also work a treat for the warmer months

Re: Chest of draws veg box. Light?
Thanks @Marcus im not to fussed about finishing inside as the first girls in there will only be staying a few weeks until the tent is empty. ill probably use that gorilla tape tip. I got looking at some 4 tubes them i saw @GMO comment about the ish clone light which sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole....HOWEVER.. i have remembered why i had money put aside. Its our 11th anniversary in a few days (totally forgot to sort something ) so now I'm thinking a 125w cfl lol

a couple mini sun ES bulbs would work a treat too if your tight on funds. even a couple 10w pondland led bulbs will do for starting and a couple weeks of veg

T5 fixture works well
These are under a twin T5 48w and rated at 5000k and 90cri.
The space is 90cm X 60cm.

This is a classic stealth retrofit, awesome!
Looks clean too. Excited to see how you get on with this.
depending on how you decide to mount the door you might also be able to use sticky-backed weather stripping to seal light leaks.

Re: Chest of draws veg box. Light?
Thanks everyone.
I think I'm going to head down the t5 route unless the wife wants to buy me an LED for our anniversary will be ordering something in the coming days.
@MafooFarms i was planning on just using the friction fit of the front, it just holds itself in place but I think a bit of weather stripping might work perfectly.
