Quitting tobacco and combustion in general. Need help!

Post by Herbalist »

Hows it going GR420.

My wife and i have been smoking for YEARS. I smoke roll ups while at work but when I'm home it's spliff spliff spliff. And she smokes a combination of the 2 throughout the day. I brought a douche flute a couple years ago for the nicotine for myself to try (wife want interested at the time) got on well with it but i killed it at work and didn't bother replacing it.

After a couple of conversations, we have both decided to knock the tobacco on the head and buy a vape each. I know a few people on here vape their weed so would appreciate some advice as far as a herb vape goes. Don't really want to fork out for a tabletop vape, we smoke outside, plus we have nippers running around so want something that can be easily hidden. Could you recommend a decent portable vape?

Also any tips anyone has used to quit smoking would be gratefully received. Little nervous about both quitting at the same time lol

Thanks in advance.

I think half the battle is having both of you wanting to. I tried for a while but with only me wanting to it was never easy. We went with patches and that inhalator thing, I doubled up on patches for a while, they really did stop the cravings. The hardest bit was the habbits, after dinner, before bed, in between doing things. I still to this day occasionally get up and put my shoes on to go in the garden, then remember I've not smoked for years lol.

It is hard to stop, but its momentary imo. The urge to smoke is a few seconds, then its over.

Thanks @Keeno when i broke my vape i did find it really easy to just switch back to roll ups simply because there was baccy at home. Was kind of a half arsed attempt first go round too because i was still putting the tobacco in my spliff. This time hopefully it'll be different once we have the vapes. Can still go out after dinner and before bed etc.

@Herbalist that’s great news as this was the best decision I made quitting tobacco. It’s been 1year 1month and 9days since last had anything tobbaco I think you biggest hurdle is the first week as the cravings but after that I gets easier. For me CBD helped me quit as at the time I use the goods 45% cbd pen every time I wanted a cig I’d use the pen after about 4 days the cravings had gone.

The pen is question was this

Nice one to you both for quitting, I quit myself....last night!

Picked up a Storz Bickel Mighty vape and it is awesome. But pricey but I found a site selling them for £190.

Cheaper option could be the Pulsar dry herb vape for about £65

Good luck!

I'm kinda the same mate looking to root out the tobaski.

Only problem I'm having with most of the portable vapes are the capacity of them, quarter g seems too small for me lol
If I could find one that holds half a g then I might be on to a winner 🥇

Good decision to stop combustion, I did it 5 years ago and feel a lot better for it.
When it comes to vapes, you do have to pay, especially when it comes to dry herb vapes, the cheaper ones just don't work as well and need replacing so often it's false economy, get a storz & bickel one if you can, they are efficient and well made, will save you money in the long run...
Good luck

You really don't need as much bud when you vape it, I would say it goes nearly twice as far, my dosing capsules only hold 0.15-0.25g but it's easily enough for a good hit.... Then you can make stuff out of the avb left over....

As for nicotine vapes, I like the SMOK tanks I'm currently using a tfv16, nearly 10ml tank capacity, the SMOK box mods aren't so good, I have a geek vape aegis atm and am happy with it

Cheers Tictok. Good luck with the quitting. £190 would be the very top end I'd spend as we'll probably be getting 2.

That's a good point. We smoke a fair bit between us, about an ounce a week.
