When to switch from grow to Bloom nutes?

Post by ohlordyeah_420 »

So I've looked over the Internet and found a million different opinions on when to actually stop using grow nutes and switch to flower nutes.
Does anyone have anything solid to say on the subject?

For my first grow I switched when the stretch stopped.
On my second grow the stretch is still going on but there are some little buds forming (check out my lemon zkittles/ strawberry banana diary to see)

I am using canna bio vega and flores if that helps.

Thanks family.

"You like smoking them, though."

"Oh, I like smoking them."

You switch to bloom nutes about 2 weeks from flip or when true flower begins, which is when crowns start forming on the plants buddy.

So anytime soon then.
I'll give them a good feed of water tonight and start later on this week.
Cheers bulls!

This doesn't mean that they might not need the odd veg nutes feed in a few weeks mate. If they start going pale give them a feed of grow nutes. Go by the colour really. If you not sure, do regular updates of your plants with the lights off and somone will point you in the right direction buddy.

I usually switch to bloom after 1 week of flower ( from flip ) and PK from week 3. That may change this time tho depending on what is recommended :)
The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.

I've tried all different ways over the years, straight from flip, as soon as I see a pistil, right up to 4 weeks into bloom. But I have found the best time to change to bloom nutes is by watching your plant. Different plants strains flower at different times, some only take a couple of days to show pistils and others can take up to a couple of weeks. I change over to bloom nutes when you can look at the plant and see a nice full pompom. And as soon as you change to bloom nutes then you will see the pompoms start growing into bud within a couple of days.
Good bit of info from Bulls as well about giving the plant some grow nutes during flower, it keeps the plant happy, and can also get rid of most defs, as does foliar feeding if applied in the right way.
Can someone help me off the floor, I feel rather stoned.

Very true Denots. All plants are different and they do grow differently under different circumstances and environment. Best thing is to learn and read your plants and go by their colour :Stoned:
