Overcooked auto help
So the pistils only finally just all turned orange and the trichs have only just got to the level I was hoping for (about 5-10% amber) but the buds already feel dry to the touch and bits are falling off. As you can see the leaves are all but gone, I'm assuming she's dead. The inside of the buds still feel moist and it still smells really nice. My question is, is this still worth harvesting or should I just bin her?
I can only assume I left her going too long and overcooked her.
I've put her in the dry tent, but seems pointless as she's already crispy lol. I was hoping a good cure might make her smokeable but will she just end up really harsh? The colour is a bit off-putting aswell although she always had a bit of a strange colour to the bud sites anyway.
Thanks for any help Gr family

Harvest it mate.
It's ready when your ready, tricomes will still mature slightly after the chop as well.

Re: Overcooked auto help
Is it worrying that the buds already feel dry on the outside though mate? Should I be aiming for a shorter dry time?
Never seen this before so panicking.

Re: Overcooked auto help
Get her down as Mellowed says. She overcooked and/or dried out badly or more than once. No way to know if she will be harsh till she's dry and in jars. I had very similar on 1 out of 8 plants when the bastard drippers blocked up.
Id harvest, jar up, but jar separately from other plants. There has been dead plant matter next to moist, which can be a recipe for disaster.

Re: Overcooked auto help
i call this "dead standing"
just chop the whole thing and hang it. itll probably dry a lil faster but should be fine

Thanks big K,Keeno wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 6:17 pmGet her down as Mellowed says. She overcooked and/or dried out badly or more than once. No way to know if she will be harsh till she's dry and in jars. I had very similar on 1 out of 8 plants when the bastard drippers blocked up.

So she's already in the dry tent on her own. She very well could have dried out, humidity dipped quite low and I neglected her a bit to be fair as I've had loads going on.
Will she even be safe to smoke? Or how would I tell if she is or isn't kinda thing?
I always jar each plant serperately any mate so no worries there ( as I never grow more than one strain per plant lol).
I checked for mould and rot but couldn't see anything and no bad smell, just crispy on the outside with bits of bud falling off and a weird colour.
How long do you think I should probably dry her for? I'm assuming a shorter time?

Re: Overcooked auto help
That sounds a bit worrying @GMO
Already chopped her fully intact and she's hanging to dry as we speak. Do I still go by the "branch snap" method?
Any other tips for when they are like this?
Thanks brother

Re: Overcooked auto help
i dry in a sealed cupboard so the dry ones seem to suck the moisture out of the air and the moist buds. so i just wait till the buds feel firm. not spongey if that makes sense

Re: Overcooked auto help
Gotcha. Is it worth adding in some water dishes just to raise humidity in hope they might take some up during the dry so they even out in the cure process? If that even makes any sense at all lol

Re: Overcooked auto help
it makes sense but dont tempt fate id say. just go with the process as losing everything to rot would suck balls
