Sonic Alien & Friends

Post by Cave Hill Cole »

Hey everyone, back in 2022 with a new grow and another dairy. I ended up moving recently, which has resulted in a larger groom setup area. So i have upgraded by tent to a 2.5m x 1.2m x 1.8m. I am using by my HLG 550 and HLG 650R (dialed down by 35%) side by side. As always I am running autopots in coco. I use H&G A+B, Canna PK, worm teas & microbes. As I run a sythnganic style setup. So for this grow we got the following lineup.

Image

Sonic Screwdriver: https://www.allbud.com/marijuana-strain ... crewdriver

So the sonic kind of got ingored in veg due to life, as a result it got huge. So huge that I had to take drastic bending tactics. I lost a couple branches in the process, but the main colas mostly got salvaged. So far it seems to be bouncing back well. You can see the extreme bends if you look close.

Image

Alien Rock Candy: https://www.allbud.com/marijuana-strain ... rock-candy
The alien is the same, it got way way to big, I didnt want to throw it, or cut it due to time frames, so I did an extreme bend job on her...needs must.
Image

Zkittles (herbies free seed) : https://www.allbud.com/marijuana-strain ... d/zkittlez
So this strain is a little different to my normal tastes, I thought I would try a bit of a hype strain for fun. It was a free seed, so no expectations on this girl.

Image

9 Pound Hammer (pheno# 4): https://www.wikileaf.com/strain/9-pound-hammer/
This is the 3rd fem pheno from my pack of hammer. I just want to grow this girl out to see what shes like compared to her sisters. they were nice, but not as heavy as I like to be honest.

Critical Neville 2.0: https://www.deliciousseeds.com/en/criti ... -haze.html

Now this is a bit of a different one to. Back when I was growing autos, this was the best auto I ever came across. So I promised myself, one day I would grow out the fem photo period, to see if its anything like I remembered.

So this grow is a bit of mixed bag and all over the place in size and genetics, but I do love selection in my life, so we do what we gotta do to keep the head and body kind.

Hey everyone,

So just coming to the end of week 2. The alien rock candy and the sonic have adjusted to the extreme bending, in order to fit them in. Both seem to be healthy and look on track.

Image

The Sonic is going great guns, looks super healthy and has stopped not growing. To be honest I wasn't that nice to her the first week of flower, she lost a couple branches in the bending process, but she appears to have bounced back ok. I reckon this is going to be a tricky one to train late in flower.

Image

The Alien Rock has got a nice level canopy. She has some weird 3 fingered leaves, but looking at pics online this appears to be a trait, but honestly who knows. She has super stocky fat bud sites. She's not stretching like the sonic is which is nice.

Image

I put the critical neville into the flower tent, she's is a week behind the others. She got mainlined so that I could keep a couple clones in veg.

Image

The hammer is one of the smaller plants in the room. She has some weird sing leaflets going on. She is a clone that didn't have the best time in veg, so that could account for it. Anyway she seems healthy now, be interesting to see how she comes along.

Image

The Zkittles is cruising along, not the biggest plant, but we shall see how goes through flower.

Greetings,

We are just rolling into the end of week 3 in the tent. The grow seems to be going ok given its the middle of summer down here. Four of the five plants seem to be preforming well.

Image

I've added a third fan on the sonic screwdriver (SS). The SS is getting huge, she seems really healthy and happy, she's got a whole light to herself pretty much, so that may have something to d with it. She has bud sites all over the show. I'll be interested to see how the flower clusters form, given the huge number of tops. she is starting to drop trichs and smell. She has a beautiful orange cream baby powder smell right now.

Image

Image

The alien rock candy (ARC) is suffering a little this week, she displayed signs of lockout (light green colouring) even though she's getting a solid EC of 1.6. This has happened to me before with the odd plant in a grow, I'm not sure if its something to do with the autopots.... or possibly the close proximity of the light. Anyway I flushed her with a bucket of straight water, gave her a microbe tea with goodies and then put her back on the tank feed. She's seems to have improved a little. I'm just going to keep an eye on her and flush again next week it she doesn't improve. I may also turn the light down, its running at 70% right now. The other neighboring plants are looking super happy and healthy, but they are further away. The Zkittles smells incredible, to me it smells like grape candy. She's super leafy, but seems to be moving/maturing very fast. She is the plant to the right.

Image

The Critical Neville (CN) is stretching a lot and taking on a nice structure. She has plenty of space to grow, so it will be interesting to see how the buds form. On the auto verison, the CN buds were long spear like colas with thick stems. I did some stem pitching this week and she bounced back nicely. She is healthy and loved the microbe tea. The CN is the plant on the right. The hammer is looking happy and helahty, she has a ton of those mutant single leaf petals. I'm very interested to see how this ugly duckling turns out. The hammer is the plant on the left.

Greetings all,

Just coming into week four now. The tent is quickly filling up. The Sonic is still getting huge and moving at a pretty decent rate. Its by far the biggest plant in the room.

The ARC is still looking very lime green. Its pretty easy to pick out. I have flushed it and given it a tea. but its still just not getting that much better. I really don't know what has stressed it out so badly, as all the other plants in the room are very happy.

Thanks Mrs Beef... I'm growing this girl Captain styles.. No pruning or leaf removal, just letting her be through the grow... And I didn't set up my temp devices on this one hahaha letting the girls sweat a little in tropical conditions

Hey Mr Nice, the plant supports I bought separately, they are a product called "the atlas plant trainer". Unfortunately the company is no more, the owner Rob passed away about a year ago... RIP he was a nice dude.

But yeah I love them, them make life easy for lazy people like me who hates scrog nets. I love how amazing people like keeno make them work... Ive just never had the patience to do it well... Also I grow a lot of different cultivars/strains.. So they are all different heights often and don't work well with a scrog.

I think I'm going to build some PVC pipe plant supports too soon, kind of like a cage for each plant, similar to my atals plant support system
