Curing jars
Growmie here to overthink again.
I was wondering does it HAVE to be glass jars that you cure in? If so, why? Could you not do it in plastic tubs or tupperware?
If it really has to be glass jars then is there a certain size that is preferable, or is it more to do with the size of your crop?
As I said im sure I'm just worrying over nothing and overthinking but I'm about to order some and some small hygro/thermos so I'd like to know before I pull the trigger.
Thanks for any advice or info as always GR family

Re: Curing jars
So if I used say plastic then it would seep into the weed? That makes alot of sense. Any idea how big/small i should be aiming for? I didn't know if it would affect humidity etc although I know you shouldn't fill more than 75% full.
Pickle weed doesn't sound very nice

I like...
Ikea... 1l jar Β£1.75 https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/korken-jar ... -50213546/
They hold 50g ish, and you can get replacement gaskets if they get smelly.
Really good quality jars. Don't seem to be available online at the moment, but if you're flying past a store and fancy some meatballs n gravy, then well worth grabbing a few while you're stuffing your face.

Let's just hope I have enough dry crop to fill those bad boys up!

Re: Curing jars
I think the main reason for glass is it cleans up better than most plastics, you can use solvents on glass without it melting too, some plastics leach nasties as well so you need to look into what material and figure out if itβs safe for the purpose you need it for.
With glass you just wipe it out with some iso and itβs good to go

That makes a hell of a lot of sense mate, didn't even think of having to clean them etc. I did realise that plastic probably wasn't the best idea in most cases as like you said don't want to leech any toxins/nastys into the weed, thanks for the info
