Have you bought worm castings before?
Hey o/
I'm trying to find a supplier of worms in Europe and can I fudge find one. I'm wondering... Have you bought worm castings before and if you did, did it contain any eggs or cocoons?

Re: Have you bought worm castings before?
Worm castings from green hand organics always seem to contain both worms and cocoons....

Re: Have you bought worm castings before?
Anything I’ve bought in the USA is commercial worm castings. I’ve never noticed cocoons in the castings.

Re: Have you bought worm castings before?
I've purchased worm castings and they seem a lot dryer than the slop I get out of my worm bin.
Maybe my worms hate me?

Are you thinking of leachate? People often confuse leachate as worm tea.

I can get castings to you in bulk mate but they're not mine unfortunately. I have a source in Europe and they're ok but I've not seen cocoons in them. The half nekked call was unexpected

Re: Have you bought worm castings before?
I use a UK company called "elixirgardens" on ebayUK for mine. And, indeed, lots of organic goodies, Epson salts, volcanic rockdust, alphalaha for example. Great quality every time.
Good price, it has worm eggs in it, and often live wrigglers as well, moist not sodden.
I can't state whether they deliver to Canaries though, especially post-brexit and with it being a living, organic compost, but try contacting them by email to find out.

Re: Have you bought worm castings before?
Was just havin a reed KD thinking what does this stuff look lik so googled "worm castings"
Yep worm poo........yh seen that before ....lol
But did come accross this bit of info ............
"Another impressive benefit is the way it naturally repels insects. The digestive system of earthworms produces an enzyme called chitinase. This enzyme is a degrader of chitin, the substance that comprises the exo-skeletons of most insects. When used properly, worm castings help to repel chewing and sucking insects like aphids, whiteflies, and hard-shelled plant bugs. If an insect feeds on the leaves of a plant that has absorbed the chitinase, its stomach will soon begin to dissolve, and death will come quickly. "
Good to know
