Great thoughts! I lack the creativity to science the shit out if :( lol. Is expanding foam easy to take of when needed? The plan is to box the tent in I just didn't really know how to go about itAncient.Soul.Grown wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 12:48 pmInsulation boards make a box and sit tent inside with a small tube heater on a thermostat .... smaller envelope.
Expanding foam... side panels x 4 and a lid.... also highly recommend putting a base in also with an air gap and maybe another board if height allows... looks tight though.
Draw warmed air from smaller envelope into tent and not direct from outside.
I would science the shit outta this hahahahaha
just my thoughts :)

Yh get some heavy tog blankets the higher the tog the better keeping heat inBenjic93 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 12:49 pmYou think heavy weight blankets would make much difference? I think the duvet on top is doing fack all but I'm not sure lol. So ideally drape some more blankets down the side? Will need to keep the entrance of the tent clear.Have a temp inkbird to control the heater I just didn't really want to use it.MrNice wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 12:42 pmOk seen well get some heavy weight blankets cover the tent keep the heat in with out giving extra heat
I use a room stat in my tent as the room its in has two outside walls which gets quite cold in the winter once the heating goes off can drop to lik 18c so keep the stat set at 20c for night
The stat controls wen the heater on so not running all night comes on and off a few times when ive chked
and treat the tent like a big sleeping bag cover it all around use some bungees to hold the blankets tight to the tent should work

Re: Budget insulation around the tent?
Wouldn’t it make the most sense to insulate the shed first?
If you used kingspan around the walls and roof of the shed and even better line it with ply afterwards, in my mind that would help you all year round, it would seal up all the gaps and help keep the heat in over winter and help keep it cool through the summer

Summink like they use to insulate caravans or camper vans may do job and you can get it sticky backed so easy to fix to your tent, tape corners up, jobs a good en hopefully. Not cheap but not overly expensive like kingspan https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284153256453 ... SwtbFgBtNw

Re: Budget insulation around the tent?
It does make sense, I'm just trying to keep the cost down at this time of the year. Its a pretty long shed so I couldn't imagine it'll be that cheap properly insulating the shed. It's also a rented property I want to be out of by the end of next year so I don't want to throw much money at itVador wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 1:16 pmWouldn’t it make the most sense to insulate the shed first?

Hero. Any experience with it? Be a nice easy job just sticking it to the tent.2-Scoops wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 1:29 pmSummink like they use to insulate caravans or camper vans may do job and you can get it sticky backed so easy to fix to your tent, tape corners up, jobs a good en hopefully.
