Super budget drying help
Hey Gr fam,
Alot has happened in my personal life recently and has left me basically broke for the foreseeable future, the problem is my first couple plants are ready for the chop ( I think).
I was planning on buying a second tent for that reason but that's out of the question now.
I was wondering, if I were to get a cardboard box and then cut say a plastic bottle (with something to block the light getting through?) and put it through the vent and into the box (with air holes poked in all around it) would that sufficiently stop me stinking out the whole street?
The only other option is to just chop them put them in a cupboard and hope noone comes knocking.
But the last thing I need is getting nicked on top of everything else.
I know what I'm suggesting is probably ridiculous but I'm out of options.
I'm open to any other suggestions
Thanks all.

Re: Super budget drying help
put the cardboard box in your grow setup so it goes through the filter too? or duct the box to the tent like a passive intake?

Re: Super budget drying help
We've used a cardboard wardrobe box from argos or something like that that we turned into a drying box. Had a pc fan pulling air out the tip through a fishtank activated carbon filter. It wasn't perfect but it stopped us stinking out the estate . I'll see if @Point 5 has any pictures of it.

No Current Grow on, Point5 has the tent and is doing her lovely thing.

Re: Super budget drying help
Would it not be too hot? As inside my tent it's ranging from 22-25c at the moment. I don't have any spare ducting but yeah that's kind of what I was getting at, sort of turn it into an intake and hope for the best? Would that work?
I don't have anything that big unfortunately mate just a regular cardboard box so I'd basically have to just lump the bud on top of eachother, can't imagine that's a good thing, due to mould and stuff? I can try to get my hands on a bigger one though.Hmr81 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 12:32 pmWe've used a cardboard wardrobe box from argos or something like that that we turned into a drying box. Honestly as things are I'm not sure I could even buy those little bits you suggested, but would still like to see the pics if you have them.
Thanks guys

Re: Super budget drying help
id think it would stay a little cooler in the box but outside the tent would be better for sure

Re: Super budget drying help
I could position the box furthest from the rad and under the canopy to try to limit heat from the LED but I still think it would be lower end of the 20s, is that too high for drying?
I don't even have any spare ducting so I also need to mcguyver something to connect the two together lol.

That's what I was thinking mate, with something over the end to prevent light getting through?

Thanks P5! That is very cool. Did the cardboard one work decently enough?Point 5 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 1:02 pmhttps://growroom420.com/viewtopic.php?f ... Drying+box
