I think what would be more interesting if we had tests done from all 4 corners of the soil area tested.

Re: Brandon Rust 2021 Soil Recipe
i think 1 depends on source and processing, 2 is tricky cos most bug experts say that its not the sharpness but the dryness which might kill bugs (which is nullified when in a moist soil mix or even wetted on surfaces) but it likely doesnt and 3 will again depend on source as DE has a pH range of 5-10 meaning it should have an affect on the over all soil pH if if it, itself is higher that the averageseymore_budz wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 10:03 amI agree with GMO, DE has everything you're short on. Only concerns are 1) will it push the sodium up too high? 2) how available is DE to plants? It's used as a pestercide but work because it's too sharp for bugs to walk on but not really that widely used as a soil improver. 3) It won't raise the PH like lime and your PH is low.
I'm not an organic/soil grower so I don't know if any of the above is relevant or not and just some thoughts after reading about DE.

Every time I've used crushed egg shells etc..... in our garden, the slugs just drive through it like a plough and it doesn't workGMO wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 3:23 pmi think 1 depends on source and processing, 2 is tricky cos most bug experts say that its not the sharpness but the dryness which might kill bugs (which is nullified when in a moist soil mix or even wetted on surfaces) but it likely doesnt and 3 will again depend on source as DE has a pH range of 5-10 meaning it should have an affect on the over all soil pH if if it, itself is higher that the averageseymore_budz wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 10:03 amI agree with GMO, DE has everything you're short on. Maybe it's just toxic to them?

Didn't you know, the earth is actually a cyclinder, like the shape of a black hole..... slightly tapered and bow mouthed

Re: Brandon Rust 2021 Soil Recipe
From an all-around viewpoint, we have to consider the position of the agronomist. Most of all, the agronomist is not some guy flipping numbers into a matrix to see if everything balances out. More like the agronomist is an operations research specialist who uses linear programming to come up with recommendations. Linear programming here can be thought of as a simple what if analysis. Except for the fact that it is automatic, is maximized, and minimized.

Re: Brandon Rust 2021 Soil Recipe
Certainly not but you can’t get a recommendation for a minimal fee. If you look at all of the outputs, or inputs that are usually used on the recommendations, you will see that there is no DE. It’s not even an option for the recommendations where inputs are given. There must be a reason but I would guess it has more to do with what is readily available in the industry for the most part.DIY.Rik wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 6:29 pmYou can't buy experience @anova.330 can you ;-)anova.330 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 6:11 pmFrom an all-around viewpoint, we have to consider the position of the agronomist.
