Thanks for the advice cap. In the past I have open the vents on the propagator and they seem to have been fine.Captain Beefheart wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 6:55 pmI myself use coco jiffys for taking cuttings for coco / water i soak them in a cf of 1 ph 6 then root them....if I was starting seeds I'd use the peat based ones as then the tap root has summit to chew on from birth, I buy them by the hundred, wutang my only advice is as soon as the seedling appears and its upright and has cotylons onnit get it out of the propagator otherwise ewe risk the seed damping off !!!! Re: Jiffy Pellets
Also how far deep do you plant the seed inside?FX wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 5:35 pm
Those have all popped after 4 days, I'm no expert for sure but seems to work. I mixed a little bit of biogrow and root juice then add 5ml of it to each pellet, pop a seed in then stand them up in a propogator under light, spraying water into the prop occasionally.
I soaked the seeds in water over night first...

Re: Jiffy Pellets
I make a small hole with a dribbler and pop the seed in just far enough to fully cover it, then just squeeze the top of the pellet lightly so the coir covers it up, seems to work....

Re: Jiffy Pellets
I soak my seeds overnight. Place in rapid rooter, place in propagator, then place prop in veg area under 18/6 lighting on a full moon.

Re: Jiffy Pellets
I use Root riot cubes for clones and seeds.
Don't bother soaking seeds beforehand.
Soak the cube with 5ml of water and leave under a T5 for a couple of hours to warm up.
Put the seeds into the cubes and tear a corner off to cover the hole.
Under a T5 with the lid on till they sprout.
