make sure ur plants come down in ec gradualy before doing this. 1.4/1.0.08/ over a week then flush water. dropping 1.2-4 to 0 can shock them into holding ferts n taste nasty no matter what you doJJ wrote:https://growdiaries.com/journal/ice-wat ... edium=post

I've done both of these, the ice one is a bit of a pain but does work tricks the plant into thinking colder climate is coming, but you need a lot of ice as you can imagine.
As for the darkness before harvest I've always done it at least 24 hrs but have gone as far as 72, I wouldn't do 72hrs again, I normally average at 48, but I've never done it another way so couldn't tell you if it is a pro or con
