Trimming back fan leaves

Post by Ghost_In_A_Jar »

As the title says....
I’ve got to a point where I need to cut back some of the bigger fan leaves to let the light get down to the lower bud sights.

I’m interested to see/hear how you all go about cutting back or pruning your plants and/or if you do at all...and why you would or wouldn’t.

No right or wrong here, I know what has worked for me in previous grows. I’m just interested to hear what other experiences have been 😁

Other than my first grow, all I’ve done is autos 🙂 they do seem to respond well with a few leaves taken off here and there.
What I started to do was rather than remove whole leaves, I’d just remove all but 3 fingers on each leaf. Then removing them entirely after the stem/arm has grown a bit.

I think it’s the best of both worlds. I leave enough solar panel to keep the photosynthesis going but also give the lower bud sites some extra light.

Put that together with some lst and it’s worked pretty well so far.

Some people say defoliate others say don’t each leaf captures the light radiation buds don’t photosynthesise you pays your money you takes your chance I think I go for no defoliation unless you want to reduce humidity as I think this does work.
