Those split air conditioners work pretty good.

Re: small AC unit for groom
I am getting up to 30 at the moment then cold at night. It's hard work being in certain situations sometimes. I will be keeping an eye out for one myself when I move into a bigger groom. It will just tick over to keep a constant temperature and also another smaller one for a dry room, dries far too quick right now for me.Greenfingers wrote: ↑Sun Apr 25, 2021 8:16 amGood day to you all , im on the look out for a small unit to cool my grow room as its been hitting temps of 40c and its not even summer yet

The ceapest I found were on that Wish shopping online. Some were only 20 odd pounds and at that price you could replace once every 1-2 years if that's the only affordable route.
I looked on Argos and other main places and they get very expensive.
Failing that try placing a tub of ice behind a fan and replace once or twice per day.

Re: small AC unit for groom
I use a 10,000 btu in a 10x12 foot sealed room, which cools it very well. I've also used a cheap 5000 btu in the past, it works too! But keep in mind, the small a/c will always be working much harder than a larger unit

You would have to leave the door open for lights on.

Usually I would just stick another outtake fan on the tent in summer to keep air turnover as high as I can without using a direct blast of air from an internal fan. Never gets that hot here though.

Re: small AC unit for groom
Move more air if you can. If its 24c outside the groom but 30c in it then bigger fans will work lovely.
Air con is a expensive game. I've used smaller ones but as josh says they are working full whack 24/7. The reality is with ac bigger works best imo but bigger costs a fortune to run.
Keep a eye out in b and q, they often have offers on ac that are not in their website.

Re: small AC unit for groom
Wouldn't you get lower run costs if you are well insulated and just keepoing things ticking over?
I'm not sure how air con work? I suspect once they are on they use quite a bit even if only ticking over?
