Re: Beginner seed
Man keeno is on point! As a personal use grower myself it’s always better to err on the early stages of your grow experience. I’ve had hiccups and breakthroughs . Take your time and let the plants tell you what they want/need. I grow in a 4x5 and only grow three plants . They fill it up fast with good genetics and a little TLC . Don’t be afraid to ask. We all want to see you prosper !
What are you growing in? Soil? Coco? Peat?

Re: Beginner seed
Once again thank you! Just found your article on grow set up, very useful! Apologies for asking too many newbie questions just want to make sure I've get the right set up within my budget!Keeno wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 2:36 amFor a 1m x 1m I'd do with a 150mm RVK. They come in both low power and high power (a1 and l1). Systemair is a good choice of RVK, they are bomb proof, I've got some thst have been running non stop for years. Tlyou will need a filter to match the fan.mostang64 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 2:28 amthanks for info, I was looking at ISH 320 looks good. So i think i'll settle for two plants to begin with no point being greedy at this stage as i don't know what i'am doing! Any recommendation which would be a good inline fan for 100*100 cm tent?Keeno wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 1:43 am
I'd go 2 big or 4 medium plants in that space. 4 would fill it faster in veg. I normally say 60cm x 60cm per plant is spot on but 50cm x 50cm per plant would do you well.
Invisible Sun ISH 320 would work well in thst space.
We give away a Invisible Sun LED every week on the forum and one of his big lights is also up for grabs at the 420 party here on the 20rg April. Some competitions have minimum post count for entry but nothing that can be achieved in a few days. Have a look through the competition section when you have time and you will get an idea of what we do and how to enter.
Systemair 150mm low power (A1) will match a filter like Rhino Pro or Viper filters that are 150mm x 300mm.
Systemair 150mm high power (L1) will match a filter like Rhino Pro and or viper that are 150mm x 600mm.
The low power should do fine in there. The high power will also work but will be noisier so I'd recommend getting a fan controller if you go high power.
Always get a filter that can handle more air than your fan moves.

Re: Beginner seed
Thanks man! I was thinking growing in soil i think coco might be a little bit hard, yet again i have not decided between the two. Need to do a little bit more research however coco seems interestingILlegalyGrowing wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 2:56 amMan keeno is on point! Re: Beginner seed
I love growing in coco, Used with a fabric pot it allows you to never overwater which is a huge mistake made by new growers . It also allows you to use different nutes as well. I like dry amendments and use R.O water ph’d to 6.3 with a little recharge and molasses every once in a while when my Ppm’s get a little low.
Purchasing a cheaper ph pen off Amazon or wherever . Will be you best tool when feeding your medium. If your ever unsure about where your soil is at. Water so you have runoff and test your runoff. Get a cheap ppm meter too. 20$ each roughly

Re: Beginner seed
Sorry man I'd disagree I mean don't go with a cheap one, invest in a better one you thank yourself in the long run like the blue labs one.
I'm in soil, I tend to feed mine 5% of pot size every few days but I've overfed one of mine and she defo not happy at me, Were you thinking of doing organic grow or non but agree with @ILlegalyGrowing coco is a good option you have more control as you'll be feeding everyday
Where the salts go, the water will follow

Re: Beginner seed
very true man cheap pen is better than now pen, I had a cheap one and it was shit as this one didn't have that screw bit that dials it in so never trusted it. currently, I'm using a hm ph-80 think it was like £30-35 at the time so not too expensive and tbh I didn't see the budget bit lol.

Re: Beginner seed
Hi @mostang64
Starting out growing is the worst part. I started with coco and i'm still with coco. Soil seemed to be confusing as i belive you need to be looking at the plant and thinking what it needs a weeks time or so. coco is like growing by numbers so suits me.
Have a look round the boards and see what you think will suit you.
PH pens are a pain lol. i have a cheappy one thats lasted 16 months before i dropped in water and killed it lol
Good Luck and have fun
