Switching to photos

Post by Grumpy Toad »

I've been growing auto for about 2-1/2 years. Decided to try a couple photos. I'm comfortable with the light change and have gotten a handle on light leaks.

My question is: what else do I need to consider when switching from auto to photos? BTW, if it matters I'm going to grow S.A.G.E. from TH Seeds. From what I can tell it seems to be a hardy, easy to grow cultivar.

Thanks & Peace,

Toad

There isn't really a difference. Just you decide when flower starts. With your experience you will see what the plant needs as you go.

I find photos alot easier than autos. You'll smash it

Yea really not much difference other than you pick when to flip to 12/12 or whatever you decide the flower ligjt cycle to be.

That is something I need to watch. I have a short tent. But I am good at training and SCROG so I'm hoping to keep in control. :thanks:

My rule to my grows is flip when half the size you want the final plant.

They fill out loads in 2 weeks

So, I grew two photo strains. The fastest growing plant developed nanners about 3 weeks into flower. Chopped immediately. The photos are of S.A.G.E. from TH Seeds at 9-1/2 weeks. Start water only and figure week to 10 days until harvest.

Shame about the nannas but we all get them from time to time. You did a good job for your first photo run. Lovely bit of training.

They`ll double and more like triple in size when you flip to 12/12 in those first 3 weeks and will be hungriest they`ll ever be so ferts need upping slightly before dropping them back a wee bit after 4 weeks.
