Can anyone tell me how I would post a GIF in a thread using the browser version of the site on mobile?

There are two ways.

1: Hotlink from the site that is hosting it. (Some sites will have hotlink protection on them, so you'll have to go with option 2)

2: Upload it to your gallery like you would a jpg using the "Image-URL" option.

(That's for a desktop version of the site. It should be the same for mobile)

You're not using the correct URL for the image, and also you've chosen media instead of img
