Bowl Trimmers - Wet or Dry trimming?

Post by wutang »

Hey guys

So I purchased a bowl trimmer that comes with a straight and serrated blade, one for dry and one for wet trimming.

I was planning to trim dry with this bowl trimmer but I've read it can destroy buds when dry and mash them up. It makes sense to wet trim as the leaves haven't curled up like they have done whilst drying with leaves on to dry trim, which makez makes them easier to pass through the grill and get lopped off by the blade.

Anyone used a bowl trimmer to dry trim?

It looks like I'm going to have to hand dry trim as I don't want to destroy my long awaited harvest.

I went against wet trimming with the bowl trimmer as then I'd have to dry them on nets and turn them around etc and have flat sided bud

I trim wet with it, I'm none too bothered about flat sided buds either. It all gets smoked and still gets me bashed

I've always done it wet. Id not want to use the wire blade for dry trimming.

Wet trim does a good job on its own. I find a god shake of the jar/tub/bag every time to burp when curing also causes the reaming sugar leaves and anything tumble itself off.

I've got a straight blade and a serrated blade. The manufacturer says it can do both..I might try a few test buds but I can already see how it isn't going to be as effective as a wet trim using the bowl trimmer. I guess its back to the trim bin this grow. Live and learn baby

Look at the bud brush wutang. @Rassensi got me on to it and I realised I already have one in the form of a Silicone basting brush. Cost me €0.80 n all! That's for dry trimming though
