Just come across this whilst doing some googling on dry trimming. One thing I experienced that the first few days I could smell the dank bud smell then after that I could smell a hay like smell. As most have said the hay like smell is a good thing, according to this article, if you smell dank bud whilst trying, that's the terpenes burning off which you don't want. This gives the bud its taste and smell..makes sense now.
