What were people actually looking for when they found out they can smoke weed?

I don't know ... but I so remember my first time being stoned from total straight prob don't sound funny now lol , I was convinced there was a polar bear on the pavement I just couldn get Labrador out my mouth

What were people actually looking for when they found out they can smoke weed?

Haha often wondered how people stumbled upon many things in nature and how to use them. My brother and I used to think about that alot when we were teenagers. So we went around collecting all sorts of plant material, from gum leaves to lantana dried them and smoked them. Never did find one that was an undiscovered high unfortunately. By the way banana skins dont get you high either it just a wives tale
