Hey all, please move if in the wrong bit mods.
So my old Denon piece of crap has finally died a death and my "smart" speaker is thick as fuck.
I'm in the market for a new mini hifi system for the lounge.
My TV soundbar just makes me cry having to listen to Olivia Newton John through it... Man, it's BAD.
Anyone into their hifi and can suggest a plain amp, no CD or DAB, that connects to my wifi or bluetooth. ??
I've everything ripped to my phone and mac so no need for discs and I use my old ipad for streaming internet radio stations too.
I looked at the apple homepod, but it just sounded muddy in the Curry shop. My lounge is a fairly big open plan space so I need something that can fill it warmly.
HiFi sYstems.

Mate I've got a Quad Vena going into Dali speakers. Got Bluetooth etc and sounds bloody good. Should be able to find something around the £300 mark second hand that'll last for years and sound great.

What sort of money do you want to spend Marcus? Cheapest option is one of the Chromecast audios, works via WiFi and plugs into any amp via RCA or digital coax. Cost about £30 and you can find an amp that fits your budget, or Yamaha do a line of amps that you can stream to start at @£200 new.

Re: HiFi sYstems.
Cheers @GHO and @Chad.Westport .
I'm being drawn into this...
https://europe.yamaha.com/en/products/a ... index.html
With a pair of the Dali Spektor 2s.
https://www.dali-speakers.com/uk/produc ... spektor-2/
It'll replace my soundbar under the telly then, under £500...
PS Chad, I built some 18 and 15 inch scoops once, used to run them on top of some rear folded A.S.S. 21 inch scoops and some JBL JRX125s for the tops. That made you shit your pants on a Sunday morning.
Only ran it twice in anger and the pigs turned up both times. It lives in a cinema now.

Re: HiFi sYstems.
I love my Dali's mate. The sound belies their size. Doubt you'll be disappointed and Yamaha gear is alright too imho although a it's been many years since I had a Yamaha amp

Cheers man. I am drawn to the Fyne audio speakers too, but it seems everyone rates the Dali's more. I can get a 5 year warranty on the Yamaha amp too, and again people really like them.
Seeing as we're stuck indoors for the foreseeable, I need to entertain myself.

Dali's zensor 3s are one of the best standmount speakers I've heard for the money. The spektors will no doubt be good too. The other ones I like are the Mission qx2.Marcus wrote:Cheers man. Re: HiFi sYstems.
My father in law has the Fyne Audio speakers - they sound nice!
I've got a Naim hifi/Neat speaker system as my main setup, then a Naim Muso QB in the kitchen. I cannot recommend their kit highly enough.
