Stopping watering before harvest.

Post by Treetrunk »

I'm keen to know what people's tactics are before harvest.
I know about flushing but is it better to stop water all together a couple of days before chop?

Thanks @Chad.Westport
I'm it giving a try with a couple of autos at the moment.
I suppose it starts the drying process if nothing else.
I'm pretty sure it won't do any harm.
I've started using a UVB/C light in the last week's of flower.
It seems to help to help with the ripening process.
My last grow is diamond encrusted

I heard the master grower @Spartangrown does this?

I did try it once. I am going to start to do this again, it's ironic you bring this up actually.

Before I chop, I turn the lights out, let the plants sit in darkness for around 48hours no light, no water. They do get water the day before so the media is still slightly moist when I cut the plants down. I don't want my soil to get completely dry really ever. Just my way of doing things, there are a million ways to skin a cat or at least that's what I hear.

Yes that was a concern for me if in living soil, we wouldn't want to kill all the life inthe soil. Thinking about it. After 24 hours in darkness, would I be correct in thinking that the plant would pretty much cease to take up any more water anyway?

Not all my plants will be living soil, I plan to have a few Auto's on the side with bottled feed. :thanks:
