air pump for hydro?
Putting this up again since it got no replys, haven't got a clue which pump to buy for these totes they are 60L but will probs fill up to about 40L,
noise is an issue, I cant have a humming noise so loud it can be heard in the tent with room door closed from down stairs
It also needs to be able to oxygenate 5 40Ls of water in these totes
I will use more than one pump if necessary so long as its quiet, I was even thinking submersibles but they don't have much lpm
Have been looking for a pump for ages now and i can't get started without it genuinely won't be able to buy pump until I know which to buy too expensive to try for it to be too loud
Any recommended Airstones?
Please n cheers

Re: air pump for hydro?
Never saw the first one im afraid, Hailea ACO Super Silent Air Pumps. They still make a noise but they arnt as bad as most. I think BBBB did a comparison somewhere about different pumps and noise :)

The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.

Re: air pump for hydro?
whoever told you you need 40 litres per minute per tote was talking bollox.
ALso just use the cheap golf ball type airstones, there are diffuseers but they are expensive, you have to hard wire them to your tote, which makes cleaning thm a pain, and the cheapos are just as effective. the diffusers do not make much difference in the real world to be honest and are 50 quid each so id forget it..
And therees a manifold with the pump when you buy it, so you will just need airline.
