Do you think it's at the switch end of things, or at the light bulb end?
To be honest mate, the light bulb end is most likely, is it a pendent type fitting? i.e. Bulb holder hanging via a wire:-

I can't remember without looking. I don't think there's a pendent as I managed to "bayonet it in" without it swaying around. I think it's closer to the ceiling. I'll have to go downstairs and look.

Yea like minty said check it all but If you weren’t hanging off the light when it blew it’s more probable to be the switch as that’s the point when the bulb and trip happened , then no light comes on after the fact, saying to me that no power it making its way from switch to light .. to test this theory just turn power off and swap the wires from light to fan and fan to the light switch .4 screws 4 wires ... Na get somone dude lights are the only thing in a house that’s not straight forward as they sound
The bathroom light still works, and that is within those 3 lights. I haven't tested the fan as we rarely use it. I'll do it tomorrow - just in case the fucker pops again.

My thinking is old skool mate, the bulb blowing, tripped the electrics in the first place, @The Aspie Toker changed said bulb while stoned and pretty much monkey swinging on the pendant while replacing the faulty bulb. Happens all the time mate ;o)

@The Aspie Toker is your fitting actually a Pendent type like my pic mate? These are mostly 're-fitted' without the correct 'wire-swing' to actually capture the load (@Hydro will know what I mean)?

If it is this type mate then it is most likely the switch as unlikely you would have disturbed the wires:-

This rules out the common wire (i.e. the feed to the switch) so I would say either a blown switch (unlikely) or a monkey swing on a pendant fitting - the terminals on them fuckers are shit! literally unscrew themselves ;O)
