thanks RIk,

I've been out to pick up some coco subtrate and ended up buying Canna Coco nutrients (liquid A and B)? hope that's the right type?
will get some Perlite and Vermiculture tommorow.

The guy at the store mentioned lots of other supplements, but not sure if i should try them the first time around.
One of the hydro boys would point you in the right direction for canna a and b. They are proven bottled nutrients. I've never used them.

There is a mentoring section if you wanted someone helping you step by step.

One thing I do know is half or even a quarter of what it says on the bottle to use.

thanks all.

update

kit al set-up (Basic Mars Hydro TS600) with an additional oscillating fan.
currently germinating, -A HulkBeryy Haze from Royal Queen Seeds - using the paper towel method. Succesful so far, seed is open, 18 hour soak and 12 hours on paper so far.

will be growing in 60 coco, 30 perlite and 10 worm mix, starting in a small pot and then switching to a fabric one that came with the kit

nutrient wise, I will be following the Canna Coco A B and their product range. Additionally some liquid silicon, BAC Funky Funghi, and Aptus Calmag Boost

Will be starting with Distilled water during the early grow, and then switching to Rainwater hopefully - my tap water (dutch) is over 9ph, so one less adjustment

please feel free to comment and advise

thanks so far

Maz

Hey Maz mate,

Ignore the PH of your tap water (as PH will change with nutrients etc and can easily be adjusted). What you want to be basing your decision for alternative water supply is the EC of your tap water. Do you have an EC meter at the min? If your planning on growing in Coco I would recommend getting one and testing your tap water before you start spending money on H20.

Personally I have grown to HATE perlite especially in the concentration you are planning on using and I would replace that with 20% clay pebbles and 10% perlite but that is just my preference. Never used a worm mix and not sure how beneficial that would be in a Coco grow? Hopefully others will chime in on that one as eager to know how it would work etc.

I like the idea of the Fabric Pots & Air Pots so they should treat you well hopefully.

Seems you have already done your research and seem pretty much ready to go so hopefully start a grow diary mate and I will be following along for sure.

Wishing you all the best buddy.

thanks Man, the wormmix (worm hummus) is the same as vermicompost.

I have an EC meter - distilled water shows 4, tap water 370 - I'm confused

already have a 1 inch root after 24hrs on the paper towel.

will use the perlite for now ( I have 60l) and will see how it goes, but thanks for the idea

Tap water can contain a lot of additives. Chlorine, chloramine, magnesium, calcium, fluoride etc etc........

You can also check your local water supplier for their test for your supply.
