Mate has cancer.

Post by Nanook »

As most of you know... My best mate has cancer. Osophigal. I have got 40 zips of bud and intend to make rso. I will document it here however I won't go into too much details on him - his wishes. Got my coffee filters today and isopropyl 20l.
Still awaiting a mug warmer but plenty sterile syringes.

Wish us luck as he's my best mate. Dreading him dying tbh and the radio/chemo is killing him :(

The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.

SO! Decided to give it a go!
Firstly, this has extremely flammable fumes ( and can make you dizzy/sick ) - only do it in an extremely well ventilated area with no sparks/naked flames.
Setting up
426

Dry trim
427

15 Litres of ISO added evenly over trim
428

Mashed and stirred for 5 mins with a rolling pin
429

Filtered into a second container to get rid of any plant material
430

431

Now, I tried using coffee filters, but it took over an hour to get 250ml or so. Opted for a towel instead.
432

433

Final result - about 12.5l return from 15l

RIGHT! Woke up with the worst headache EVER! - Think due to ISO fumes. Didnt help I had issues using the slow cooker - never got hotter than 155f even with the lid on so I opted for a leccy wok after 5 odd hours......

I HIGHLY recommend a fire extinguisher - foam or CO2 as water will make it worse if theres an issue - I also had a towel and 5l of water incase I needed to dampen it and throw it on top.

It was bubbling like mad so I swirled as it got less and less around the wok. I also tested the temp when bubbling and it was never too hot. Today I plan to put it on my mug warmer if it arrives and gently heat any remaining ISO out.
