"Insects and disease are the symptoms of a failing crop, not the cause of it. It's not the overpowering invader we must fear but the weakened condition of the victim."
I have never posted on a forum before, so I will apologize up front for being unfamiliar with social norms and mores. Is reddit a forum? Tried that, got old fast. I am an idiot who does things, not so word make good do I or communicate.
On a serious note, THANK YOU KEENO and GMO for building a place where we can have community!! That is heavy lifting, much love and respect good peeps!
What else should I post to introduce myself? I am a in the food industry and I make things, especially with microorganisms. Food of all sorts, booze, "Malawi Cob" - I make and/or ferment anything, and I also like being helpful, so holler if you have a fermenting or food question. Nice to be here, I look forward to meeting and getting to know you all.
other people mentioned their grow style in their intro, so I will as well. My first grow was about 25 years ago indoors, then I went outdoors, now I am back indoors in my legal state. Started with salts, but now I grow in a living system, worms, bugs, bacteria, fungi, all very alive and kicking in a closed loop, minimum inputs, no waste or runoff. I treat my containers like a long term ferment in that I am trying to cultivate the microlife and specialize them to my environment and practices, like a sourdough culture. I mix and reamend my own soil, going on 5 plus years for this batch.
This year is my first venture into online life. I have just been doing my own thing quietly for the last couple decades. I got into cannabis at 19 because my best friend got leukemia. I had smoked before but didn't understand it was medicine until he needed it, and I will just say it was a monumental struggle to get him medicine.
As a result, I have spent my time since then trying to help people make their medicine. I feel I owe that, so if I can be helpful just holler at me!!
