I have heard one method is spoon feeding, so giving very little amounts each watering or something. I'm organic amendments so just water.

I suspect you can microdose on each watering maybe? Or continuously on a drip irrigation and resevoir?

Hey bro,

I've been growing under LED's in coco for few moons now. Personally, I don't add any additional CalMag whatsoever anymore. But then my EC is always between 1.2-1.6 in flower, until the final weeks flush. I use to go crazy with the stuff, once I removed it I found it was unnecessary. I'd suggest just running with your normal nutrient schedule and watch your plants...you can always add more later if you feel like they need it.

The black ash thing...that's more likely from not curing and drying correctly. I have run plants on an EC of 2.0 right up until harvest...the ash was white my bro...and honestly the bud was solid, i didn't notice anything from not flushing. That said..I still flush with water for the last week to 10 days of flower if possible. It feels right and saves me some nutes.

It would be good to know what your water is like. What's your tap water EC?

Soft water and LEDs aren't great bed fellows in my experience and I've had to supplement with calmag but only to about 0.3-0.4 above my base EC (which in my case was 0.0, you don't get softer than that lol)

Our tap water EC up here's generally around 80. It's pretty good up here. Wanna say that's no issue?

Interesting. I've also heard that when they're looking a bit peaky you can foliar some calmag. i think i'm gonna dial the calmag right down. I've done previous runs and never needed it - and i'm soft water up here, pretty low EC!

Yeah i've seldom used it until i jumped onto LED's. think i mentioned in a previous forum that a couple of people said 'just double your calmag' - and i followed suit like a tw4t!

How do you dry mate? I slow dry (14 days) 60% humidity at about 75 C? Never had an issue with black ash before :bang head:

Thanks to you and everyone for the responses!

welcome to GR420.

I'm with the above comments, 2ml of calmag is madness. Even using RO water. @2-Scoops is bang on, base nutrients should make up for any additional needs the plant needs under a more intense light. Referring to black ash, jyst needed a bit more of a flush before harvest imo. Get a diary up and we can follow and help out if needed.
Thanks for the above mate. I'm removing Calmag from the diet :P. Never had problems in the last 6 years until now. Attributed it to LED's but I don't believe it's the case!!
